A new Mercedes Benz supercharged engine is now in the works to make it cleaner and more efficient.
The company unveiled the engine in March at the Frankfurt Motor Show and has been working with LG Chem to make its cleaner-looking sibling the LS1 available to customers.
The new engine has a 1.8-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine that has a higher compression ratio than the original LS1, which was a 2.5-litres supercharged version.
This allows for a higher output and a higher efficiency.
It has been designed to be as clean as possible.
The engine is expected to be available in 2018, but no firm date has been set for production.
