The White House is not commenting on the ethics investigation into Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price.
A spokesperson for HHS said the department “does not comment on ongoing investigations.”
Price has been under scrutiny since he was confirmed by the Senate in January.
In a statement on Wednesday, Price said he has “nothing further to add” about the probe.
Democrats are calling for an independent ethics commission to look into whether the HHS secretary was involved in the selection of Price.
The ethics investigation will be led by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Democratic lawmakers have said they want Price to testify publicly about the matter.
