By now you’ve probably heard about the latest version of Google Glass, the $1,000 wearable that has been out there for several months.
Now, Google is introducing an even cheaper version, called the Glass Explorer.
The Explorer is just $100 and you can get it in three different colours, a black and white model, and a silver model.
It has an HDMI output and will come with an app to control the device, so you can take it with you wherever you go.
It’s a great way to get into the latest gadgets, as well as the occasional selfie.
But is the Explorer a great deal?
The Explorer’s price is $100 less than its predecessor, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Google Glass Explorer – black and silver versionIf you’re in the market for a pair of Google glasses, the Explorer is the one to get.
It doesn’t have the specs of a full-blown headset, but it does have an HDMI port, a small, flat design, and plenty of room for apps to work.
The camera is a good thing, too, and you’ll be able to take photos with it without worrying about losing the lenses.
The headset is also slightly smaller than the original Explorer, and it has a built-in microphone.
You’ll also be able view videos, take a picture, and even record voice commands.
The price of the Explorer depends on whether you want to spend the money for a $100-plus device or if you want something a bit more basic, and we’ll have to wait and see how that goes.
The specs are good, but the price is just a bit steep for a product that doesn’t offer much more than a pair, and there are a few drawbacks.
The only thing it does is provide you with an HDMI signal and a camera, which is useful, but nothing else.
It also doesn’t include a microphone.
Google has also made it a bit harder to change settings and change the colour of your glasses, which means you’ll need to pair the Explorer with a compatible phone.
That’s a little cumbersome, especially if you’re a big fan of Google’s Glass-specific apps.
However, if you are, the new Explorer will be a good buy.
If you’re willing to put in the effort, it’s worth considering.
